Dr. Ayman Ashour– Deputy Minister of Higher Education for University Affairs launched the UCCD Virtual Platform 2021 and the opening of its first activities UCCD Career Expo. Prof.Ahmed Ghallab-Aswan University President participated in the inauguration of the annual platform in the attendance of the United States Ambassador / Jonathan Cohen, the American Mission Director for the International Development/Leslie Reed, President of the American University Francis Richardson, the representative of the Egyptian government at the American University, Dr. Ashraf Hatem, and the presidents of the partner Egyptian public universities.
The University Centers for Professional Development project was established in cooperation with the United States Agency for International Development and the American University in Cairo, where the centers are located in (10) Egyptian universities, namely (Alexandria – Ain Shams – Aswan – Beni Suef – Mansoura – Menoufia – Minya – Sadat – Sohag – Zagazig)
The Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for University Affairs Dr. Ayman Ashour, confirmed Ashour confirmed: The role of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is no longer limited to academic education, but rather we seek together to create a new generation equipped with science and knowledge and spread the culture of science and innovation by supporting students and graduates to improve their personal and technical skills to keep pace with the requirements of the labor market, which is witnessing many changes in recent times, especially in light of The repercussions of the Corona pandemic
The American ambassador, Jonathan Cohen, said: “The American government is committed to promoting education in Egypt over the past four decades, as the Virtual Employment Forum for the University Centers for Career Development project is a vivid example of cooperation between the United States of America side by side with the Egyptian government and the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to empower and support Egypt’s youth. For professional development by improving practical and personal skills and encouraging self-discovery among students.
Prof. Ahmed Gulab Mohammed – President of Aswan University, saying ” the activities of the second employment virtual forum have been launched under the auspices of Dr. Khalid Abdul Ghaffar – Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Online participation centers, university professional development in cooperation with the American University and support from USAID and that for the year ( 2022), and he also participated in the forum with (350) graduate students, including (5) students with visual and motor disabilities from Aswan University, and
confirmed during his speech that the total number of beneficiaries from the services of the University Center for Professional Development since the center’s inauguration on January 16, 2020, About (16,331) students and graduates, with the participation of (6) local companies from Aswan Governorate, and (58) companies at the level of the Republic.
The President of the University expressed his happiness with the participation of Aswan University in the second employment forum and welcomed Dr. Ayman Ashour – Deputy Minister of Higher Education for University Affairs and Dr. Ashraf Hatem – The American University Adviser and the presidents of the ten participating universities, stressing the importance of the role of the University Center for Professional Development and the work on qualifying and linking graduates In the labor market, in the presence of the teamwork at the University Center for Professional Development
The President of the American University in Cairo, Francis Richardson, commented: The virtual employment platform for the University Centers for Career Development project allows us to reach thousands of Egyptian graduates and students and enable them to identify the most important job opportunities available and communicate with representatives of companies, especially in light of the current circumstances that have created an opportunity for innovation, as the American University is proud to cooperate with partner Egyptian universities and the American Agency Institute for International Development to support the University Centers for Professional Development project, through which students in Egyptian universities are empowered to deal with the labor market
The representative of the Egyptian government at the American University in Cairo, Dr. Ashraf Hatem, added, “.The University Centers for Career Development project is one of the most important projects presented to Egyptian universities and Egyptian students and has a positive impact in preparing young people for the labor market, and I am proud of the efforts made by the (16) centers for professional development in Egyptian universities in cooperation with various institutions and under the supervision of the work team at the American University. This effort resulted in the participation of (55) companies from different governorates in the employment forum, which helps to create new permanent channels of communication between companies and university youth looking for work and training opportunities
The National Bank of Egypt and Vodafone Intelligent Solutions (VOIS) have also participated as main partners for the platform together with more than (55) sponsoring companies in providing job opportunities and training

More than (4000) students and graduates from Egyptian universities registered on the virtual platform, uploaded their CV and communicated with more than (55) local and international companies to learn about the most important jobs available within the virtual wings of different companies and banks. Communication (chat rooms) in addition to attending the virtual seminars presented by (National Bank of Egypt – Vodafone) for smart solutions, Hassan Allam Real Estate Development Company, Telecom Egypt, Edita Food Industries, and Al Canal Sugar Company about the most important developments in the labor market, this dynamic platform supports the businesses owners to be free from the restrictions of the traditional employment processes, and through this three-dimensional platform via the Internet; business owners and job seekers can communicate in a virtual way that resembles the feeling of real direct dealing
